Closing Conference of the European Year of People with Disabilities.

More than 500 people coming from the different European countries, including Candidate ones and those connected with EFTA, will take part to the closing Conference of EYPD 2003.
This event is organized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – Department for Community Affairs, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in the framework of the initiatives for the Semester of the Italian Presidency of the European Union. It is organized jointly by the European Commission and by the Associations of people with disabilities and their families, and in particular by the European Forum of Associations.
The Conference will deal with the key themes of the European Year of People with Disabilities and it will review the future and current initiatives underway in the Member States. This event will allow for the presentation of good practices for the economic and social integration of people with disabilities.
A particular attention will be given to the themes linked to no discrimination, to the families of people with disabilities and to the access to everywhere for everybody.
Further, the European Commission will introduce its future action within the context of an enlarged Europe. The participants will include the Ministers working on Disability themes, the representatives of NGO at European level, social partners, delegates of the European Parliament, academics, reporters, European and International agency delegates, legal experts, representatives of the Advisory Committee for disability and people who organized the European Year.
